On September 30, 2024, Ambassador Tihomir Stoytchev presented to the Secretary-General of the IMO Mr. Arsenio Dominguez his letters of credence as the newly appointed Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the International Maritime Organization.

After the ceremony, Ambassador Stoytchev laid out the priorities of our country in the framework of the IMO. It was noted that Bulgaria is among the co-founders of the IMO and it firmly supports its goals and principles. As a maritime country, we share the need to ensure the safety of maritime shipping, the freedom of navigation and the environmental protection of the world's oceans.

Ambassador Stoytchev and Secretary-General Dominguez also discussed other specific ideas for future cooperation between Bulgaria and the IMO.
