16 panels of various gold treasures were presented on the fence of the Еmbassy. The project was implemented with the support of the Institute of Balkan Studies with Center of Thracology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The realisation of the exhibition маркmarks the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Sweden and aims to increase the positive image and recognition of the country as a tourist destination among the Swedish society, through the display of the Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage and the creation of a permanent space at the embassy, promoting Bulgaria.
The photographs depict artistically crafted gold objects of high historical value, dating from the 6th-5th century BC: precious vessels, jewellery, weapons, etc. Among them are works from the Panagyurishte and Valchitran gold treasures. The objects are evidence of high artistic style in antiquity and amaze with their remarkable ornaments and elegance.
A long-term goal is the permanent availability of photographs related to Bulgarian culture, writing, tourism and nature, through which to promote bilateral ties and cultural exchange with Sweden. In the future, it is also planned to present Bulgarian tourist destinations, as well as the Bulgarian alphabet.
