Ambassador Maria Tzotzorkova presented her Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Angola

On the 9th of March 2022, Ambassador Maria P. Tzotzorkova presented her Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Angola, with residency in Pretoria, the Republic of South Africa, to the President of the Republic of Angola HE Mr João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço during a ceremony, which took place at the Presidential Palace in Luanda. For the ceremony Ambassador Tzotzorkova was accompanied by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in Angola Mr Arnold Ferreira.

During Ambassador Tzotzorkova’s meetings with the President, the Minister of Foreign Relations HE Mr Tete António, the Minister of the National Defence HE Mr João Ernesto dos Santos and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr Vicente Soares the excellent level of the bilateral relations was acknowledged by the two sides and opportunities for further development and enhancement of the political dialogue and the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed.

The Bulgarian side praised the constructive role played by Angola in the international and regional organizations aimed at creating favourable conditions  for peaceful resolution of conflicts in the Great Lakes region. The Angolan side used the opportunity to reconfirm its gratitude to Bulgaria for the support given after the declaration of independence of Angola  and especially for the educational training of specialists needed in the priority areas of the economy and the state governance of the young country.
