Participation of the Embassy of Bulgaria in public consultations in Warsaw’s district of Białołęka

Ambassador Emil Yalnazov together with Embassy staff and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute participated in public consultations with the residents of Warsaw Białołęka district at the invitation of the mayor and the municipality on the 17th of October. The event took place on the occasion of the forthcoming construction of a recreation park next to the street, bearing the name of the Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev. The meeting is attended by Deputy Mayor of the Region, Marcin Adamkiewicz, who thanked the Embassy's contribution to the work of the municipality for the upgrading of the new metropolitan neighborhood. The project, developed with the participation of the Embassy, ​​includes the shaping of part of the park as a place to honor the memory of the patron of the street Hristo Botev. It is planned to place a bust or a memorial plaque in his honor, Bulgarian roses. After approval at municipal and urban level, the project should start in 2019 with funds from the municipal budget and European funds.

In his speech to the Ambassador Yalnazov spoke about the heroic life path of the poet-revolutionary, the parallels in the history of Bulgaria and Poland, the traditionally close relations of friendship and solidarity between the two nations. The residents of the neighborhood expressed at the meeting were to develop a park area dedicated to the street patron.

In a conversation with the Bulgarian ambassador, Deputy Mayor Adamkiewicz confirmed the previously expressed desire of the municipality in Białołęka to establish a lasting partnership with the region of Sofia Municipality.
