On 26 March 2024, in the premises of the French Cultural Institute (Institute Français du Liban), the modern Bulgarian movie “Petya of my Petya” was presented to the Lebanese audience. The screening is a result of a fruitful collaboration between the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Beirut, the State Cultural Institute to the Bulgarian MFA and the National Film Center. The film was warmly received by the Lebanese audience, with the screening ending with applause. The dynamic narrative, drawing the attention to the eternal issues of friendship and betrayal, the choices between lies and truth, dignity and dishonor and love, triggered a spontaneous follow-up exchange. The viewers shared their satisfaction for the original approach of the authors of the film, recreating the quests of the modern young people through the prism of the work of the poetess Petya Dubarova, her talent and the reading of her poems.
