On June 13, 2026 the traditional EU Cultural Fair was held at the big lawn of the Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa, Gatineau. This year the festival once again gave the Canadian public the opportunity to learn about the culture and the traditions of the EU member states represented in Ottawa.

The Bulgarian stand, launched up by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria with the assistance from the Bulgarian Community of the National Capital Region volunteers, featured informational materials, art from local Bulgarian artist, traditional items and souvenirs from Bulgaria. The visitors had the opportunity to taste Bulgarian wines, specially selected for the occasion, and traditional Bulgarian sweets, which made the Bulgarian stand one of the most sought-after at the event. Many visitors were genuinely interested in the tourism opportunities in Bulgaria, with many sharing plans to visit the country in the near future.

Bulgaria was also one of the highlights of the event's cultural program. The country was represented by the folklore groups "Orfeya" and "Vito Horo" from Ottawa, who performed Bulgarian folklore songs and dances, eventually inviting the public to join in a traditional Bulgarian horo.

The EU Cultural Fair was a great success and once again showcased the spirit and the cultural diversity of Europe.
