Ambassador Gergana Karadjova greeted the Bulgarian community in New York during the ceremonial raising of the Bulgarian flag at the plaza by The Charging Bull

The ceremony, held on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Bulgaria – March 3, was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in New York.
“Together, we commemorate not only a historic event, but also the strength of a nation that has preserved its identity, culture, and spirituality despite the trials of time. Independence and freedom never come as a gift or without cost, nor should they be taken for granted,” Ambassador Karadjova noted in her address.
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United Nations emphasized that the freedom won through sacrifice and determination is the foundation upon which Bulgaria builds its present – as a democratic state governed by the rule of law and open to the world.
“Bulgaria is a proud European nation, fully integrated into the heart of the European Union, including the euro area and the Schengen Area, looking confidently toward the future and firmly defending the freedom of choice in today’s complex world,” the Ambassador added, concluding her remarks with the words, “Long live Bulgaria!”
