30 October 2024 News

The Bulgarian Consul General in New York, Angel Angelov, took part in the commemoration of the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks by Hamas against Israel, which took place in Park East Synagogue. About 600 people attended the Jewish temple. During the approximately two-hour ceremony, statements were made by the Israeli Consul General, the senior rabbi of the synagogue, the executive director of the Israel-American Council, as well as families directly affected by the attacks. There was also a musical program, and the ceremony was preceded by the presentation of an exhibition dedicated to the tragedy. The main organizers were the Consul General of Israel and the Israeli-American Council, who partnered with the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the La'Aretz Foundation.

The event was hosted by rabbi Arthur Schneier, one of the most respected Jewish spiritual leaders in the United States, who led a group recitation of the Kaddish for the victims of the terrorist attack.

The Bulgarian Consul General in New York took part in the solemn ceremony upon the invitation of his Israeli counterpart. Since the Hamas brutal attack, the Consul General of Bulgaria has taken part in a large number of events in honor of the victims and in expression of solidarity with Israel, organized by the Consul General of Israel and by organizations of the American Jewish community.
