Bulgaria with a National Stand at the London Book Fair

On March 10 this year, the Bulgarian stand at the London Book Fair was officially opened by Ambassador Tihomir Stoytchev. Bulgaria participated for the third consecutive year in this prestigious international exhibition.
The London Book Fair is among the leading global events in the field of publishing and provides a platform for cultural exchange and professional cooperation. The forum brings together writers, poets, translators, publishers, and literary critics from around the world, who discuss new projects and opportunities for partnership in literature and publishing.
A number of accompanying events were also held. At the Sofia Gallery of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London, the book Antarctica – History, Nature, Bulgarian Polar Explorers by Prof. Christo Pimpirev and Iglica Trifonova was presented, along with Trifonova’s book Christo Pimpirev: Antarctic Hitchhiker. BTA Director General Kiril Valchev presented the English-language editions of BTA’s LIK magazine. The events also featured the virtuoso kaval performer and composer Theodosii Spassov, аnd the young and talented performer from London, Maria Georgieva.
A discussion titled Satire in Post-1989 Europe was held at the Hatchards Bookshop, featuring Rosie Goldsmith, Director of the European Literature Network, Susan Curtis, Director of Istros Books, and the Bulgarian publisher and editor Svetlozar Zhelev.
