Recovery of the world of work from the Covid-19 crisis and social protection among the key debates during the first segment of the 109th International Labor Conference

On 19 June the first segment of the 109th International Labor Conference (ILC) came to a close with the adoption of conclusions on social protection and the application of international labour standards and an emergency resolution on Myanmar. Nearly 4,500 delegates from 181 ILO Member States took part in this first segment.

The 74th session of the World Health Assembly closed on May 31. More than 30 resolutions and decisions were adopted in various areas of public health, including ending violence against children, mental health during public health emergencies, nursing and midwifery, social determinants of health, strategic directions for the health and care workforce, local production of medicines, diabetes, eye care and ect.

The Conference on Disarmament held its first formal Plenary meeting conducted online in a virtual format under the Bulgarian Presidency. Bulgaria assumed the presidency on 15 March and will be chairing the Conference until 21 May 2021.
