Celebration of Europe Day by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria in Geneva

09 May 2022 News

"World peace cannot be safeguarded without the making of creative efforts proportionate to the dangers which threaten it." With these words began the Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950, an ambitious plan to secure long-term peace in post-war Europe that is considered the beginning of the process of European integration.

Today, 72 years later, Ambassador Yuri Sterk, Permanent representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the UN and other international organisations in Geneva, together with the Permanent Representatives of the other EU Member States to the UN and other international organizations, as well as the heads of the EU diplomatic missions in Geneva, send a strong message of peace at a time when war is raging again on the European continent.

The Permanent Representation of Bulgaria in Geneva took part in the Europe Day celebration, organized by the delegation of the European Union in Geneva, also with a national stand decorated with Bulgarian and European symbols and colours and presenting traditional Bulgarian food and beverages.
