Оn May 20th, 2023, the Bulgarian Embassy in Stockholm hosted a celebration to mark the Day of the Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture and the Slavic Alphabet – May 24th , as well as the end of the school year of the Bulgarian school in Stockholm. The rich program, prepared by the Bulgarian school’s pupils began with the hymn in honour of Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius – the creators of the Slavic alphabet, and a song about the letters. The program also included presentation of Bulgarian riddles and recitations of poems dedicated to the Bulgarian letters, the various animals and the four seasons, as well as an interpretation of the fairy tale The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats. Popular children's songs were performed on piano and cello by two of the school’s pupils. The culmination of the program was the presentation of school graduation certificates by Antoaneta Grigorova, Deputy Head of the Mission, and Maria Kostadinova, the principal of the Bulgarian school, who addressed the audience.

As a part of the events to mark the Day of the Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture and the Slavic Alphabet, the Bulgarian ambassador to Sweden, Ivan Pavlov, hosted a ceremony in the premises of the Bulgarian Embassy in Stockholm on May 23rd to celebrate the efforts of the representatives of the Bulgarian community in Sweden who have greatly contributed to the establishment and the successful functioning of the Bulgarian school in Stockholm, which celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2023. Certificates of appreciation were presented to Rossen Apostolov, founder of the Bulgarian School in Stockholm and its principal until 2017, Snejana Koleva, co-founder of the school, Maria Kostadinova, the school’s current principal, as well as to the teachers Darina Filipova, part of the school’s team since its establishment in 2013, and Michaela Mikhneva. The ceremony was attended by diplomats and staff of the Bulgarian Embassy.
