The Bulgarian community celebrates Easter in Malmö

On May 5, 2019, the Bulgarian Orthodox Community in Malmö, South Sweden, organized the traditional celebration of Easter.
The event took place in the premises of the Sjömanskyrka in Malmö and began with an Easter liturgy served by the Bulgarian priest Angel Petrutanov, a representative of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church for Scandinavia.
After the liturgy, the guests were welcomed by the chairman of the Bulgarian Orthodox Community, Pavlina Tosheva, and enjoyed a delicious Easter meal and a varied cultural program. The children’s group, led by Lidia Kovacheva, presented the play "Easter table" – Easter songs, as well as piano and violin recitals. After that the Bulgarian dance group BG Ritmi raised the public's mood with wonderful Bulgarian folk dances.
Among the guests were members of the Bulgarian Orthodox Community, a representative of the Bulgarian Embassy in Stockholm, Bulgarians from Malmö and Skåne, as well as from Copenhagen, many Swedish and Danish friends of Bulgaria.
