The Bulgarian School "Dora Gabe" in Warsaw held an open lesson dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews

On Saturday, November 25, 2023, the Bulgarian school "Dora Gabe" in Warsaw, at the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw, held an open lesson dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews, combined with a viewing of the exhibition "Jews in Bulgarian Lands", which collected documentary evidence of the life of the Jewish community in our country from the funds of the National Library "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", which is currently on display on the territory of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Warsaw.

The event was attended by the director, teachers and students from the upper grades of the "Dora Gabe" school in Warsaw, as well as parents and other members of the Bulgarian community.

At the beginning of the open lesson, brief greetings were given to the guests by Ms. Kalina Stancheva, Director of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw, and Yulia Tserova, Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Poland. Teachers from the Dora Gabe School introduced the students to the history of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during World War II, which is unique in Europe, and the significance of this action, in which broad segments of Bulgarian society participated, in a contemporary context.
