Solemn celebration of the Holiday of Slavic Writing and Bulgarian Education and Culture in Warsaw

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Warsaw, together with the Bulgarian Cultural Institute, organized a solemn celebration on May 24 - the Holiday of Slavic Writing and Bulgarian Education and Culture. The event was held in a crowded hall in the Water Palace in the Royal Park "Łażienki", with representatives of the Bulgarian community, Bulgarian scholars and Polish friends of Bulgaria among the attendees. The program of the event began with a speech by H.E. Margarita Ganeva, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Warsaw, dedicated to the significance of this most Bulgarian holiday. Within the framework of the solemn celebration, Ambassador Ganeva presented Father Jarosław Jużwik, Chancellor of the Supraska Academy /educational center of the Białystok-Gdańsk Orthodox Diocese/, an honorary badge and a diploma from the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria for his contribution to the popularization of Bulgarian culture in Poland.
The celebration continued with a speech by Mrs. Marinela Perczynska, director of the Bulgarian school "Dora Gabe" in Warsaw and a cultural program, including performances by the school's graduates. This was followed by a presentation of translations of Bulgarian poetry and prose performed by their authors - the students of Bulgarian studies from the University of Warsaw. The celebration ended with a concert of Bulgarian vocal lyrics performed by Eva Filipowicz-Koszynska, a graduate of the Music Academy in Sofia and a teacher at the Academy of Arts in the Polish city of Szczecin, under the musical accompaniment of the distinguished Polish pianist Prof. Laura Kluwak-Sobolewska from the Music Academy in Poznan.
