Concert dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute at the Royal Castle in Warsaw

On October 16, 2022, a gala concert was held in the Concert Hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw - one of the most prestigious venues for cultural events in the Polish capital - in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw. The concert, jointly organized by the Bulgarian Cultural Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Poland, was held with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, Prof. Borislava Taneva.
The program of the gala concert included works by Frederic Chopin, Dobrinka Tabakova and Ignacy Jan Paderewski performed by Prof. Dr. Katarzyna Popova-Zydron, a prominent Polish music pedagogue and concert pianist of Bulgarian origin, and her student, the young Bulgarian talent Georgi Vassilev - both laureates of prestigious international competitions.
In her speech at the opening of the event, the Director of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw, Ms. Kalina Stancheva, outlined the priorities in the institute's activities, its contribution to the cultural rapprochement of the Polish and Bulgarian peoples so far, and its aspiration to continue working for the development of cultural ties between the two countries.
After the concert, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Poland, Ms. Margarita Ganeva, congratulated the Bulgarian Cultural Institute on its 70th anniversary and thanked the performers. The Deputy Minister of Culture, Prof. Dr. Borislava Taneva, also made a statement, congratulating the pianists for their virtuoso performances and wishing the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw further fruitful activities.
The concert was held in a full hall, with over 200 people present, including Polish officials, ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Polish cultural circles, journalists, teachers and students of Bulgarian studies, members of the Bulgarian community from Warsaw, Krakow, etc. The audience rewarded the performances with numerous applause.
