The Consul General of Bulgaria in Shanghai Vladislav Spasov attended the opening ceremony of the Zhejiang Provincial “National Science Week” and China-Europe Innovation Cooperation Conference 2024 in Hangzhou on 25 May 2024. The events were hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology and Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government. 

During the ceremony the Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province Mr. Lu Shan and the Chairmen of the Council of China Overseas-Educated Scholars Development Foundation Mr. Cao Weizhou launched the China-Europe Talent Exchange and Innovation Cooperation Center. Scientists from Chinese Academy of Science, Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Royal Academy of Engineering UK, the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, French Academy of Sciences and Academia Europaea, issued a Joint Sino-European statement titled “Initiative for Open Cooperation in Science and Innovation”.

In one of the sub-forums of China-Europe Innovation Cooperation Conference 2024 the Consul General Vladislav Spasov presented the Bulgarian Research and Innovation Ecosystem. The Sub-forum was attended by the Deputy Director General of the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province Mr. Lou Xuejun, as well as Chinese and European scientists. Free academic discussions took place on topics related to the future of science in the field of human health, supporting framework for innovations in Europe and China and the improvement of cooperation between science and business for the wellbeing of society.
