Celebrating Bulgaria’s National Holiday in Beijing

Last week, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in China hosted a reception in Beijing to mark the Bulgarian National Holiday - March 3.
Representing the Chinese side at the reception were Ms. Hua Chunying, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, as well as other representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and other agencies.
The reception was also attended by many ambassadors from various countries across all continents, other members of the diplomatic corps in Beijing, as well as representatives of the Bulgarian community in China, and professors from Chinese universities and Chinese public figures.
The national anthems of both countries were performed by the internationally renowned pianist Claudia Yang.
In his speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to China, Mr. Andrey Tehov, emphasized the significance of March 3 in Bulgarian history, noting that it marked the final act in the Bulgarian people’s long struggle for national liberation, as well as a new beginning in Bulgaria’s millennial history.
Ambassador Tehov also highlighted the importance of relations between Bulgaria and China and reaffirmed Bulgaria’s readiness to continue developing constructive and pragmatic relations with China based on mutual respect in all areas of mutual interest.
