On June 26, 2021 Bulgaria was introduced as an attractive destination for quality higher education at the "Jinan International Sister Cities Education Expo", organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Jinan City – the twin-sister city of the Bulgarian town Kazanlak.

The exhibition was held in a hybrid style – both online and in person. 52 renowned universities from 12 countries were represented, including universities from Bulgaria, Germany, the UK, Hungary, Malaysia, Poland, Ukraine, South Korea, Russia and so on.

Many Chinese prospective students and their parents had access to information and materials in Chinese language introducing education in Bulgaria. The introductory materials were all prepared by the Embassy-affiliated Volunteer group for promoting Bulgaria-China Cooperation in the Field of Education. Mr. Metodi Negrevski, Coordinating Head of the Volunteer Group and a representative of the academic community in Beijing, together with other volunteers, personally presented information to the curious prospective students about the advantages of receiving higher education in Bulgaria. They also explained the steps for applying to Bulgarian universities.

Six Bulgarian universities had kindly cooperated and provided promotional materials for their foreign-students programs and were specially introduced at the Expo.
