Ambassador Natalia Uzunova and Honorary Consul Ellen Joncheere meet with the Mayor of Ghent

On 29 May 2026, Natalia Uzunova, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Kingdom of Belgium, together with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria for Flanders, Ms Ellen Jonckheere, met with the Mayor of Ghent, Mr Mathias De Clercq, at Ghent City Hall.
The meeting focused on opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between Bulgaria and the City of Ghent in the fields of innovation, high technology, education and research. Particular attention was paid to the potential for expanding cooperation with the University of Ghent. The role and contribution of the Bulgarian community in Ghent were also among the topics of discussion, along with potential opportunities for cultural exchanges.
