Welcome to the website of the Bulgarian Embassy in Brussels!

In 2019, we celebrated the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Belgium. The traditionally friendly relations between the newly-liberated Bulgaria and the Kingdom of Belgium, reflected in the common national motto of the two countries "L'union fait la force" (United we stand stronger), continue to develop upwards today, when we are partners and allies in the European Union and NATO, sharing common values, interests and approaches to global issues. The regular political dialogue and the high level of achievements so far in the fields of investments, trade, tourism, cultural and educational exchanges provide a solid basis for realizing the existing serious potential for expanding bilateral cooperation.

The mission of the Bulgarian Embassy in Brussels is to promote and contribute to this dynamic partnership, which will make the historically established relations between the two countries even stronger and more sustainable. The embassy is also accredited to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. On 16 December 2021, Bulgaria and Luxembourg marked the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.

An important priority in our work is the protection of the rights and interests of Bulgarian citizens residing in Belgium and Luxembourg, the provision of quality consular services and assistance and support for initiatives aimed at preserving the national identity of our compatriots living in both countries.

On our website we present the staff and activities of the embassy; consular and other assistance and services that we can provide you, as well as information and news about significant events in the development of bilateral political, economic and cultural relations, involving the embassy.
