The three Bulgarian diplomatic missions in Brussels celebrated together the National Day of the Republic of Bulgaria

On the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Bulgaria, March 3, 2026, a joint reception was held at the Hôtel de Ville of the municipality of Saint-Gilles in Brussels, organized by the three Bulgarian diplomatic missions in Brussels – the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria to the EU, and the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Bulgaria to NATO.
The reception was hosted by Natalia Uzunova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Ambassador Rumen Alexandrov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the EU, and Ambassador Nikolay Milkov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to NATO. In their joint address, the hosts noted the historical significance of Bulgaria's Liberation. They also highlighted the excellent cooperation and long-standing friendship between Bulgaria and Belgium, based on common values and a shared vision for Europe, as well as on partnership within the EU and NATO.
Among the guests of the event were the Bulgarian Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva, representatives of the diplomatic corps, Belgian federal and regional authorities, Members of the European Parliament, officials from EU and NATO institutions, and prominent representatives of the Bulgarian community. The mayor of Saint-Gilles, Mr. Jean Spinette, was a special guest at the reception, and the hosts thanked him for his hospitality and cooperation in organizing the event.
The cultural program included performances by the pianist Boris Bikov, who presented Petko Staynov's "Rachenitsa" based on Viktor Chuchkov's piano paraphrase, as well as by the Bulgarian polyphonic music group "Bulgapeya," which demonstrated the richness of traditional Bulgarian music.
