On May 16, 2024, in Baku, the National Social Security Institute /NSSI/ of the Republic of Bulgaria and the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed a Memorandum for cooperation in the field of social insurance services. At an official ceremony, in the presence of Mr. Ruslan Stoyanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the document was signed by the Deputy-Governor of NSSI Mrs. Vesela Karaivanova-Nacheva, acting Governor of the Institute, and Mr. Himalay Mamishov, Chairman of the Board of the State Social Protection Fund of Azerbaijan.

With the adoption of the Memorandum, the two institutions will focus their efforts on deepening cooperation between them in the field of social and pension security by sharing best practices and exchanging practical information in areas of common interest.

Within the framework of the working visit of the Bulgarian delegation, realized at the invitation of the State Fund for Social Protection of Azerbaijan, the two countries made presentations of the social insurance systems of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
