On 16 March 2026, a protocol meeting took place at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Armenia between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Armenia, Mr. Nikola Nikolov, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Nikol Pashinyan.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the traditionally excellent relations between Bulgaria and Armenia, based on strong historical and cultural ties and an active political dialogue. The discussion focused on opportunities to further deepen bilateral cooperation, including the possibility of elevating relations to a strategic partnership.
The sides also discussed prospects for strengthening economic cooperation, regional connectivity, and Bulgaria’s support for Armenia’s reforms and closer integration with the European Union.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that the bilateral dialogue between Bulgaria and Armenia will continue to develop dynamically and that cooperation will expand in all areas of mutual interest.
