On December 23, 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria Nikola Nikolov presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.

During the meeting, the Bulgarian ambassador expressed his desire to work towards deepening and developing the traditionally good bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Armenia in all areas of mutual interest.

Ambassador Nikolov expressed his readiness to work towards holding regular meetings at high and the highest level. He also pointed out that he would seek new opportunities for joint business initiatives and prerequisites for intensifying trade and economic ties, as well as for holding various cultural events. This would contribute to mutual understanding and strengthening of contacts between our two friendly peoples.

The President of Armenia expressed his satisfaction with the appointment of a new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia. He also said that he hoped that bilateral relations would deepen in all areas of mutual interest and that Armenia would rely on Bulgaria's experience on its European path.

President Khachaturyan declared that he hoped for more active trade and economic relations, emphasizing the need to restore the direct flights between Yerevan and Sofia.
