At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan on March 4 this year meeting was held with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bulgaria in Armenia, Kalin Anastasov. In the spirit of excellent relations between the two countries and on the occasion of the National Holiday of the Republic of Bulgaria, March 3 - the Day of Bulgaria's Liberation from the Ottoman Empire, the Armenian President congratulated the Bulgarian people and wished future success and prosperity to Bulgaria. Vahagn Khachaturyan highly appreciated the level of political dialogue between Armenia and Bulgaria, based on the friendship and close cultural ties between the two peoples, achieved over the past three years. From his side, Ambassador Anastasov noted that he and the embassy team are working purposefully to strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries. The ambassador confirmed Bulgaria's position for deepening its relations with the European Union. In the course of the conversation, views were expressed on the possibilities for upgrading the sectoral cooperation between Bulgaria and Armenia in various spheres. Topics related to the prospects for implementation of joint programs, exchange of good practices and promotion of cooperation in the economy, energy, education and science, health care, high technologies, aviation, pharmaceuticals and other areas of bilateral interest were discussed. With satisfaction, both interlocutors noted the positive result achieved by the operation of the Yerevan-Sofia direct regular flight line launched in May 2023. President Khachaturian and Ambassador Anastasov exchanged views on the regional and international situation and its impact on Armenia and the South Caucasus region.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and allowed for an in-depth and extended discussion on the aforementioned topics, which is a confirmation of the high trust and excellent partnership between the two sides.
