The Embassy celebrated the National Holiday of Bulgaria and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Armenia

On March 3, 2022, the Bulgarian Embassy in Armenia, together with Primary School N131 after Peyo Yavorov in Yerevan, celebrated the National Holiday of Bulgaria and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Armenia.

The event was attended by more than a hundred representatives of government bodies, NGOs, the diplomatic corps, the academic community and friends of Bulgaria. The Bulgarian symbol of spring “Martenitsas” were presented to all guests. The event guests had also the opportunity to get acquainted and receive presentation brochures advertising Bulgarian tourism, culture and landmarks.

The event was covered by the largest medias in Armenia. In his interview with journalists, the Ambassador Anastasov noted the importance of the National Holiday and specific details of the event held at “Yavorov” School, as well as reviewed the historically good Bulgarian-Armenian relations and prospects for their development.

Earlier in the day, representatives of the Bulgarian mission placed flowers in front of the monument of the famous Bulgarian poet Peyo Yavorov.

Speeches to the guests were made by the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Armenia Mr. Kalin Anastasov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Paruir Hovhannisyan, as well as the director of the school Mrs. Naira Zakaryan.

Students from different classes performed a short art program including poems by Peyo Yavorov, traditional Bulgarian songs and folk dances.
