Yambol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bulgaria, in partnership with the Enterprise Armenia implements the project "WINEBIZZ - promotion of trade relations and cooperation in the wine sector between Bulgarian and Armenian companies and business support organizations", with the support of EU4Business funded by the EU.

The project aims to facilitate trade between the European Union and the Eastern Partnership countries in the wine sector, to improve the competitiveness of the sector and to enable the establishment of partnerships between Bulgarian and Armenian business in the wine industry.

Meetings between Bulgarian SME and BSOs took place in Yerevan on February 1-3, 2022 with their Armenian counterparts entitled "Let's study the Armenian wine sector". The Bulgarian participants got acquainted with the trade environment and investment opportunities in Armenia. The visit included in its program a conference presenting information on the economic development of the country and that of the wine sector in recent years. On-site visits were also organized to 3 wine producers from the Yerevan region, leaders in the wine industry of Armenia. Armenian companies presented their experience of working with EU partners and their market strategies to reach more customers. During their visit, the Bulgarian representatives also held a series of B2B meetings in order to exchange information and conclude potential agreements.

Based on preliminary online meetings and face-to-face meetings, a memorandum of cooperation was signed at the end of the visit, which laid the foundation for future fruitful cooperation in support of companies from both countries that have the desire and interest to work together.

The project envisages a delegation of Armenian companies from the wine sector to arrive in Bulgaria in early March, where a visit to the international wine exhibition - "Winery 2022" in Plovdiv is preview.

During their visit to Armenia, some of the Bulgarian participants in the project also met at the Bulgarian Embassy in Yerevan. In a meeting the potential opportunities for bilateral trade cooperation in the field of wine production between the two countries were discussed.
