News - USA, New York, Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria to the UN

Bulgaria’s UN Youth Delegates, Vyara Trifonova and Viktor Tsvetanov, joined the opening of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee in New York. They met with Bulgaria’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Gergana Karadjova, and delivered part of Bulgaria’s national statement on social development, advocating meaningful youth participation in policymaking and highlighting equitable access to AI and youth innovation.

They also co-organized a side event at the EU Delegation to the UN with youth delegates from Albania, the Republic of North Macedonia and Slovenia on strengthening meaningful youth participation.

In his closing remarks, Bulgaria’s Third Committee expert, Dr. Svetozar Dimitrov, highlighted the growing momentum behind youth participation and the need to turn commitments into action. Now back in Bulgaria, Vyara and Viktor will share their UN experience with young people at home.
