Bulgaria took an active part in the 64th session of the United Nations Commission for Social Development (CSocD64), held in New York. Bulgaria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Gergana Karadzhova, together with the Youth Delegates Viktor Tsvetanov and Vyara Trifonova, delivered a national statement on behalf of Bulgarian youth.
In their address, the youth delegates emphasized that social justice requires inclusive policies and the meaningful participation of young people in decision-making processes. Data from a national survey highlight education, strong institutions, and youth participation as key factors for sustainable and equitable development.
The 64th session of the United Nations Commission for Social Development is held under the theme “Promoting social development and social justice through coordinated, equitable, and inclusive policies” and is the first session following the World Summit for Social Development in Doha (2025).
