On 16 - 17 July 2019 the United Nations General Assembly held a commemorative meeting to mark the 25th Anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development and its Program of Action.

For the first time, this Program puts the respect for human rights, gender equality, the sexual and reproductive health, including the right to plan one’s family in the heart of development.

Lachezara Stoeva, Deputy Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations in New York, reiterated Bulgaria’s commitment to implement the Program of Action and our country’s resolve to work together with all relevant stakeholders for its full implementation.
