On Saint Tryphon and Saint Valentine, on February 14, 2024, the Consulate General in New York hosted a concert performed by Lora Al-Ahmad - piano and Maron Khoury - flute. The concert was part of the "Bulgarian concert evenings in New York" initiative.
The festive evening was opened by the Consul General Angel Angelov, who greeted all the guests and introduced them to the Tryphon Zarezan holiday, which is revered in Bulgaria. Mr. Angelov invited the attendees and their families to the upcoming series of events to commemorate Baba Marta, The Liberation Day, The Women's Day, etc.
The two musicians' romantic performances included masterpieces of Bach, Charles-Marie Widor, Francis Poulenc, Maria Theresa von Paradis, Cécile Chaminade, Laura Al-Ahmad and others, and ended with " Fantasie Brilliante" on themes from the opera "Carmen" by J. Bizet. The hall was filled with nearly a hundred classical music admirers from the Bulgarian community and its friends.
