On January 29 of this year Angela Rodel, winner, together with the writer Georgi Gospodinov, of the prestigious International Booker Prize for 2023, presented, for the first time in the USA, an English translation of Vera Mutafchieva's novel "Case of Cem". The event took place in a crowded hall in the emblematic New York bookstore "Rizzoli", together with representatives of the Bulgarian community.

The Consulate General in New York provided Bulgarian wine for the event, and the Consul General Angel Angelov took the floor briefly to welcome the translator's role in promoting Bulgarian culture around the world and to join the discussion about the classic work. Angela Rodel expressed heartfelt thanks to the Consul General for his assistance in organizing the presentation of this classic Bulgarian work in the USA.

Angela Rodel will also present her translation at several other locations in the American Northeast: Yale University, Columbia University, and in Boston, then she will visit Minneapolis, Chicago, and Washington, DC.
