On January 27, 2023 the Consulate General hosted the annual alumni meeting of the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). The president of AUBG Dr. David Evans, members of the board, alumni, donors and friends were present.

The Consul General Dr. Angel Angelov welcomed the guests and emphasized the leading role of the university among the educational institutions in Eastern Europe. He expressed his openness to collaboration with the large AUBG alumni community in the Tristate area. A panel discussion moderated by Dr. Evans followed, which focused on the future development of AUBG and the merits of liberal arts education.
