Meeting between Ambassador Angel Bandzhov, Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva, and Ms. Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
11 June 2026 NewsOn 1 June 2026, Ambassador Angel Bandjov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, met with Ms Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The discussion focused on issues related to international humanitarian law, as well as opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the ICRC in the context of growing humanitarian challenges. Ambassador Bandjov underlined the Republic of Bulgaria’s consistent support for the work of the ICRC and the country’s commitment to strengthening the international humanitarian system.
Ms. Spoljaric expressed her gratitude to the Republic of Bulgaria for its participation in international initiatives in the field of humanitarian law and provided a detailed overview of the ICRC's current activities.
