As from 1 March 2020, road vehicles with a total technically permissible maximum weight exceeding 3,5 tonnes circulating on paid road sections in Bulgaria will have to pay for their use distance-based road charges – toll. The toll replaces the electronic vignette for heavy vehicles and buses.

On 16 November 2019, in the Greek Club in Pretoria, a charity bazaar was held organized by the International Diplomatic Spouses Association (IDSA).

The National day of the Republic of Bulgaria 3 March was celebrated in the Bulgarian club in Midrand with a festive concert. Ambassador Krassimir Stefanov welcomed and addressed the Bulgarian community gathered on the occasion. The cultural programme continued with a variety of artistic performances, popular dances by the folk ensemble “Bulgarian rose” and culminated in the traditional Bulgarian ring dance.

Bulgaria took part at the opening of the Francophonie Days – 2018 on 10 March 2018.

A concert of the grandsons of the great Bulgarian composer Pancho Wladigeroff – Alexander and Konstantin Wladigeroff – was held on 8 February 2018 at the Bulgarian centre in Midrand, Johannesburg.

The Bulgarian actor Miroslav Simeonov won the silver medal at the international Delphic Comedy Championships held at the Joburg Theatre on October 1st, 2017.

The talented Bulgarian competed with participants from the UK, Zambia, Colombia, Nigeria, South Africa, the USA, Slovenia and Serbia
