Bulgarian Ambassador Irena Gancheva met with the Convener of the Pakistan-Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Group in the National Assembly of Pakistan

On August 12, 2025, Ambassador Irena Gancheva visited the National Assembly of Pakistan, where she held a meeting with Ms. Zeb Jafar, Chairperson of the Pakistan-Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Group. During the discussion, the importance of parliamentary contacts between the two countries was emphasized, as well as the key role of the friendship groups in developing and expanding Bulgaria-Pakistan relations in areas of mutual interest.
Ambassador Gancheva presented the composition of the newly formed Friendship Group with Pakistan in the 51st National Assembly of Bulgaria and expressed her readiness to assist in establishing direct contact between the leadership and members of the friendship groups in both parliaments, with the aim of outlining steps for future fruitful cooperation.
In the context of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Pakistan, which is being marked in 2025, both sides agreed to work toward expanding people-to-people contacts, enhancing trade and economic relations, and promoting exchanges in the fields of education, science, new technologies, and culture.
