Information for vehicular travellers on the territory of Croatia

12 February 2013 News

Because of strong winds and continuous heavy snowfall, travel conditions in most parts of the country remain difficult, especially in the regions in central and north-western Croatia: Lika and Gorski Kotar. Traffic on motorways is hampered and speed is restricted. Traffic police caution motorists to comply strictly with the restrictions and guidelines set by the relevant authorities, and not to travel without winter equipment. The A2 Zagreb – Macelj highway between Jankomir and Trakošćaninterchanges and the A6 Rijeka – Zagreb motorway between the Kikovica and Bosiljevo nodes are closed to trucks with trailers, freight vehicles and tractors. On the ring road of Zagreb, in the western direction, there is congestion and the speed limit is 60km/h. It is expected that snowfalls will continue until Thursday.
