Bulgarian Development Aid Delegation visits Beirut

During the period 21-25 May 2024, Bulgarian Development Aid Delegation, headed by Ms Iskra Angelova, Head (a.i.) of the Development Aid Directorate of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Lebanon for an on-site inspection and elaboration with current beneficiaries and relevant future partners, regarding ongoing and future cooperation.

In Bshari the Delegation held talks with the Director of the Gibran Museum, Mr. Joseph Geagea, and the leadership of the National Gibran Committee. Students from local schools demonstrated skills and knowledge related to conservation and restoration of books from Khalil Gibran Museum’s library, as acquired during their involvement in activities, subject to the current cooperation with the Bulgarian Embassy.  

In her capacity of an Ambassador for A Day, Ms Sara Dergham, a young nominee of the related initiative contest participated in the visit to the village of Bshari as a member of the Bulgarian delegation.

In the University of Kaslik, the Bulgarian Delegation met with the Head of the Lebanese Heritage Foundation, Father Joseph and the Professor in Art History, Ms Elsy Bou Jaude, who is in charge with the ongoing joint project aimed at conservation and restoration of precious liturgical icons.

The Delegation was accompanied by H.E. Iassen Tomov and the Bulgarian Development Aid Team at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Beirut.
