On 24 and 25 May 2024 the Bulgarian Embassy hosted two events dedicated to the Day of the Saints Cyril and Methodius, and the Bulgarian Alphabet, education, culture and Slavic literature.

On 24 May the Bulgarian Embassy in Beirut received the Lebanese alumni of Bulgarian High Schools as well as members of the Bulgarian community.

On 25 May, under the sounds of the Anthem of the Saint Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the alumni of the Bulgarian Sunday School (BSS) “Ivan Vazov” entered the classroom while holding the letters of the Glagolitsa Alphabet and offered to parents and guests a special performance telling in rhymes about the miracle of the letters and about the importance of knowledge about the Bulgarian Alphabet as a key element for building a sentiment of patriotism, national pride and identity.

The students and their teacher, Mrs Stefani Koleva, presented to parents and guests a specially designed video-film representing significant achievements of Bulgarian creators and authors on national and international soil.

The BSS “Ivan Vazov” students received certificates for their successful graduation of the recent school-year 2023-2024 and marked its ending by letting off of balloons with the colors of the Bulgarian national flag.

Improvised exhibition presented to parents and guests works of the alumni of BSS ‘Ivan Vazov”, created during the previous and the recent school-year.

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Lebanese Republic expresses its gratitude to the teachers of BSS “Ivan Vazov”, Mrs Elena Dyulgerova and Mrs Stefani Koleva, for the preparation of an extraordinary 24-May performance.
