On January 9, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Georgi Vodenski, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

On December 24, 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Georgi Vodenski, presented copies of his letters of credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Alibek Bakaev. During the meeting, the good level of cooperation between our countries was noted, a brief retrospective of the mutual visits carried out in the past periods was made and the main initiatives planned for the next year were highlighted. Ambassador Vodenski renewed the invitation from the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, to the President of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to pay an official visit next year.

With reference to the upcoming public holidays and non-working days in the Republic of Bulgaria, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Astana and its Consular section will not work from 24.12.2025 to 26.12.2025, 31.12.2025, 01.01.2026 and 02.01.2026.

On October 29–30, 2025, a meeting of the Joint Bulgarian-Kazakh Commission on International Road Transport was held in Astana. The Bulgarian delegation was led by Dimitar Nedyalkov, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Bulgaria, and the Kazakh delegation was led by Maksat Kaliakparov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting, the quota for the exchange of permits for freight road transport was updated, steps to enhance cooperation between the countries in the field of transport were identified, and opportunities and prospects for mutual investment in transport infrastructure were discussed.

On 16.04.2025, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the process of preparing the visit of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, to the country, a working meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Kazakhstan, Mr. Boyan Hadjiev, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Roman Vasilenko. The main points of the visit program were discussed, the main topics of the talks within the plenary session, protocol issues, as well as the organization of the business forum, which will be opened by the presidents, were identified. It is planned that over 30 heads of large Bulgarian companies interested in establishing or deepening business relations with Kazakh partners will participate in the delegation.

With reference to the upcoming public holidays in the Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Astana and its Consular department will not work on 03.03.2025 (Monday), 21.03.2025 (Friday), 18.04.2025 (Friday), and 21.04.2025 (Monday).

With reference to the upcoming public holidays in the Republic of Bulgaria, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Astana and its Consular department will not work from 24.11.2024 (Tuesday) to 26.11.2024 (Thursday) inclusive.

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Astana took part in the Scientific and Practical Conference "Public Administration and Civil Service: Present and Future", which was organized by the Academy of Public Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on November 15 and 16, 2024 in Astana.

With reference to the upcoming public holidays in the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Astana and its Consular department will not work on 30.08.2024 (Friday), 06.09.2024 (Friday) and 23.09.2024 (Monday).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in the process of implementing a large-scale project, coordinated in advance with all responsible institutions in Bulgaria and the EU, including the implementation and launch of a new version of the National Visa Information System (NVIS).
