Dimitar Mihaylov
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan 
His Excellency Mr. Dimitar Mihaylov was born on 10th August 1961 in Sofia.
In 1988 he graduated with a master degree in “Arabic language and literature” from the Damascus University, Syria. In 2004 he obtained a PhD degree in the history of early Islam from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
He started his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria in 1992.
He has gained diplomatic and administrative experience in the Embassies of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tripoli – Libya, Kuwait City – the State of Kuwait, Washington, D.C. – the USA.
In the period 2011 – 2012 he was head of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Syrian Arab Republic.
From 2013 to 2018 he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the State of Israel.
He presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Head of State His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein on June 17, 2019.
He is an author of monographs and articles focused on modern Middle East and the medieval period of Islam.
Fluent in written and spoken Arabic, English, Hebrew and Russian. Married, with two daughters.
