Participation of the Bulgarian Folklore Ensemble “Balkan” in the International Festival “We Sing for Iraq” in Baghdad

The Bulgarian Folklore Ensemble “Balkan”, part of the “Balkan” Association – Madrid, Spain, took part in the 8th edition of the International Festival of Folklore and Heritage “We Sing for Iraq”, held in Baghdad from 18 to 20 November 2025.
During their visit to Iraq, the ensemble was welcomed at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Baghdad. In recognition of their excellent performance and contribution to promoting Bulgaria’s cultural heritage, the members of the group received certificates and letters of appreciation presented by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy.
The “Balkan” Ensemble is the first Bulgarian folklore group to visit Baghdad in many years. Their performances were warmly received by the Iraqi audience and contributed to strengthening cultural exchange and friendship between the peoples of Bulgaria and Iraq.
The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Baghdad expresses its gratitude to the organizers of the festival and to the “Everyone for Culture and Arts” Foundation for their invitation and excellent cooperation.
