The event was attended by more than 250 guests from the Iranian administration, parliamentarians, the diplomatic corps, academic and cultural circles, non-governmental organizations, businesses, media, and the Bulgarian community

The 12th International Film Festival for hundred seconds short movies was held in Tehran on 27 and 28 February 2019 with the participation of two Bulgarian short films. The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tehran H.E. Mr. Christo Polendakov and members of the Bulgarian Embassy took part in the Festival and met the organizers of the event.

On 21 February 2019, members of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tehran attended the stage play of the actors from the State Puppet Theater in Vidin "The Little Theater at the End of the World", set up in Tehran in cooperation with the Theater “De la Massue” from Nice, France. The play was directed by the French director Ezequiel Garcia-Romeu and is included in the program of the initiative "Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019".

On February 7th, 2018, the ceremony of the 25th World Award for Book of the Year of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held in Tehran under the auspices of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Dr. Hassan Rouhani.

On January 21st 2018, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tehran held an official reception on the occasion of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The European Union National Institutes for Culture - EUNIC’s Cluster in Iran will present to the Iranian audience the European Film Week 2017.

On September 17th, 2017 the Director of “Asia, Australia and Oceania” Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Angel Orbetsov visited Tehran to participate in a Seminar dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Iran.

Ambassador Christo Polendakov paid an official visit the town of Khorramabad- administrative center of the Iranian province Lorestan in the period 10-12.07.2017.

During the 35th International Film Festival "Fajr" held in Teheran, the Bulgarian actors Margita Gosheva and Stefan Denolyubov were awarded with the "Silver Simurgh"

On April 12, 2017 at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tehran Ambassador Christo Polendakov, Mr. Ivaylo Yordanov, Counselor, Head of the Consular Section and Mr. Tsvetan Aleksov, First Secretary and Head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Service met with the managers of the Iranian tourist agencies that will work on the Bulgarian tourist market during 2017
