Head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Section to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tehran was awarded the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce prize

On 22 July 2016, the Deputy Minister of Economy Mr. Ljuben Petrov awarded the annual prizes of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce for best Bulgarian trade and economic representatives abroad. The third prize was awarded to the Head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Section to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tehran Mr. Tsvetan Aleksov.  

According to Deputy Minister Ljuben Petrov these awards reconfirm the appreciation of the Bulgarian business of the often unnoticed by the media and society efforts of the commercial attachès.

“You help Bulgaria to catch up with the leading European economies, so that the standard of life in our country further improves. I expect our commercial attachès to continue to pursue an active export policy and to promote Bulgaria as a stable, modern and promising investment destination” he said.

After the traditional annual meeting of the representatives of the Offices of Trade and Economic Affairs Abroad which was held in Sofia Tech Park, the Minister of Economy Mr. Bozhidar Loukarski underlined that Bulgaria’s emphasis is placed on the regaining of its economic positions on the Iranian market after the lifting of the economic sanctions. On his behalf Deputy Minister Ljuben Petrov stressed that during the recent visit of the Bulgarian Prime Minister Mr. Boyko Borissov in Tehran two bilateral Memoranda of Understanding were signed and that the business communities in both countries are eager to engage in partnerships. He informed about the plans to reinforce the Economic Affairs Section to the Embassy in Tehran by appointing one additional staff member. In his opinion it is necessary to use the scientific potentials of both countries and to develop the multimodal transport corridor linking the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea regions as part of the Silk Road.
