Visit of the Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov to Athens
26 July 2023 NewsBulgarian Prime Minister Acad. Nikolai Denkov visited Athens on July 24, 2023 and met with his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The delegation included Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev, Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeykov, Minister of Energy Rumen Radev, Minister of Environment and Water Julian Popov.
The two Prime Ministers reaffirmed the excellent level of Bulgarian-Greek relations, as well as the common will to further deepen bilateral cooperation.
During the plenary talks between the two delegations, issues of the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Greece in terms of energy and transport corridors and common actions on the implementation of projects of mutual interest were discussed. On the agenda were also concessions of the ports of Kavala and Alexandroupolis, gas connections, the Alexandroupolis - Burgas pipeline, as well as the development of the railway network connecting the two countries.
Prime Minister Mitsotakis expressed gratitude for Bulgaria's help in efforts to fight the relentless forest fires in Greece.
