Zornitsa Apostolova

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Finland, Letters of Credence presented formally to President Alexander Stubb on March 12, 2026

Zornitsa Apostolova was born in 1975 in Sofia. She completed her secondary education at the 91st German Language School "Prof. Konstantin Galabov" in the capital.

She holds a Master's degree in International Relations from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and a Master's degree in International Relations and European Studies from Central European University, Budapest.

 

Zornitsa Apostolova is a career diplomat. She has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2004, where as a diplomatic officer she successively held various positions in the field of public diplomacy, bilateral relations with neighbouring countries, regional cooperation, etc. She served at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Ankara, Republic of Turkey, and at the Consulate General in Istanbul. In 2016-2020, she was Head of the Consular Service at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Copenhagen, Kingdom of Denmark.

In the period 2021-2022, she was Special Coordinator for Bulgaria's candidacy for membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

 

From 2022 to early 2026 she took the position of Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
