Welcome to the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Addis Ababa, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
The diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Ethiopia were established on 3 July 1956 at the level of legations, and the Bulgarian diplomatic mission in Addis Ababa was opened in the Ethiopian capital in 1959. This year, we are marking the 70th anniversary of the relations - seven decades of cooperation, founded in mutual respect and trust.
Currently, the Embassy in Addis Ababa represents the interests of the Republic of Bulgaria in the FDR of Ethiopia. In the consular sphere, it provides consular protection to Bulgarian citizens and carries out legalisations of Ethiopian public documents, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Addis Ababa does not provide visa services. For submissions of short-stay visa applications for Bulgaria (Schengen), the applicants may contact the embassies or consulates of the Republic of Bulgaria that provide such services. For long-stay visa applications (type D), the applicants may contact the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Cairo, AR Egypt.
