Reception to mark May 6 - Day of Bravery and Bulgarian Army Day

On May 13, 2026, a reception was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Yerevan to mark May 6 - Day of Bravery and the Bulgarian Army Day. The event was attended by representatives of the Association of Military Attachés in Yerevan and the diplomatic corps, officials from the structures and protocol department of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, the Head of the EU Delegation in Yerevan, representatives of the EU Mission in Armenia, representatives of non-governmental organizations in the Republic of Armenia, as well as our compatriots working in the country.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Nikola Nikolov, and the Military and Air Attaché, Colonel Zdravko Yachev, delivered welcoming remarks to the guests. Ambassador Nikolov emphasized gratitude toward the Bulgarian armed forces, noting the deep military traditions, professionalism, and the sense of duty and responsibility among service members. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation, trust, and partnerships in the name of peace, security, and stability.

Colonel Yachev underscored the importance of bravery in military traditions, as well as historical and professional continuity within the army. He highlighted the role of the Bulgarian Army in collective and allied efforts for peace and security and encouraged the upward trend in the development of bilateral military cooperation with the Republic of Armenia.

In conclusion, gratitude was expressed to the guests who honored the celebration of this important holiday for Bulgaria, on which we also honor Saint George the Victorious—one of the most revered Christian saints, a symbol of courage, victory, and protection.
