31 March 2026 News
On March 31, 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria hosted a recital of Bulgarian poetry, performed in French by students of the French Lycée “Anatole France.” The event took place as part of the initiatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Yerevan within the framework of Francophonie Days in Armenia. Poems by prominent Bulgarian poets such as Peyo Yavorov, Nikola Vaptsarov, Teodor Trayanov, Dora Gabe, Dimcho Debelyanov, and others were presented.

The musical-poetic recital was performed with great enthusiasm by the students, who demonstrated their talent and advanced knowledge of the French language. There were a number of memorable artistic moments, filled with emotion from the recitation of the poetry, accompanied by beautiful music and inspiration. The recital moved the audience and became a true celebration for the students, their teachers, and the guests, who immersed themselves in the emotions of Bulgarian poetic creativity through the richness and unique sound of the French language.

In his address to the guests, Bulgarian Ambassador Nikola Nikolov emphasized that Francophonie is not only a community of nations but also a space for dialogue, creativity, and mutual understanding. In addition, he noted that today’s celebration serves as a unique bridge to Bulgarian poetry—an expression of deep sensitivity, history, and spirituality.

The Director of the French Lycée, Christian Schaal, thanked the ambassador for the initiative and for giving the children the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of the French language and acquire the social skills necessary for successfully overcoming future challenges and for their personal development.
The event was attended by the ambassadors of Belgium, Greece, Egypt, Canada, and Serbia, as well as diplomats, representatives of state institutions, teachers, journalists, and friends of the Francophonie in Armenia, the administration and teachers of the “Anatole France” French Lycée, and teachers from School No. 131 “Peio Yavorov.”
